Fishing Report July 11, 2013

Welcome to a wet & windy Rainbow Beach for the Fishing report.

The wind did actually drop to allow us offshore for 3 days last weekend, but again has picked up making decisions for this weekend difficult.

It will be a wait & see for Saturday and this pattern could continue through next week as well.

The Fishing over the 3 days was excellent although Saturday was a bit tougher.

Snapper have again made up the bulk of our catch, and lets hope everyone is complying with the Regulations of just 1 each over 70cm. Reports do filter back that upgrading does happen and that is disgusting.

Other species landed included Gold Spot Cod to 20kg, Moses Perch, Parrot, Hussar, Gold Spot Wrasse and a lot more Pearlies than the previous week.

No Legal Reds were landed but there is a plague of undersize ones out there.

Well hopefully the winds will abate soon as enquiries have been excellent, and with luck we will get you out there.

In the Straits the only reports to hand have been of the odd Mud Crab being taken.

If travelling the Beach this weekend take care & seek info first as it could be very difficult.

Till next week – Good Fishing if you get out.
